Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Source Supply. When it comes to our registration process, our branches and Safeguarding team work in partnership to ensure all our teachers and support staff are fully vetted and compliant before we place them in schools.
When you register with us, you can be confident that all the appropriate checks will be carried out, meaning you can feel secure and supported when you step into the classroom as part of the Source Supply team.

Want to find out more about the registration process? In this blog, we’ll discuss the interview process and vetting checks we complete to get you classroom-ready.

Registration made easy

Whether you find us via a job board, search engine, social media or through a recommendation, registering with us is simple. You can either contact our Teesside or Sheffield teams directly, register online or apply to one of our latest vacancies.

However you find us, our friendly teams will be on hand to run through a 15 minute pre-registration call, where they’ll find out more about you, your experience and your requirements.

Once they’ve got to know you, they’ll arrange an interview (via Teams or face-to-face) and send across our secure onboarding forms via email, which you’ll need to complete before the interview.

Acing your interview

We want you to feel relaxed and reassured during your interview, so we keep the process simple and personal. We’ll run through your experience, your preferences and any documents we need to complete our vetting checks.

Which documents should I bring?

We’ll send a list of documents you will need to provide at interview. These will include right to work documentation (passport, birth certificate, share code), proofs of address and qualifications.

For online interviews, we’ll ask you to use a platform called TrustID to verify for your documents. If you decide to interview in person, we’ll take secure copies in branch and add them to your record.

Disclosure and Barring Service checks

If you haven’t got an Enhanced DBS, registered with the Update Service, we’ll put one in process for you, free of charge. We’ll send you a link to submit your application. Once submitted, our Safeguarding team will check it and attach your documents to the application before sending it for processing.

You’ll need to register your DBS on the Update Service within 30 days of the certificate being printed. It’s a £16 annual fee, with the option to automatically renew your subscription each year.

Referencing

At pre-registration, we’ll confirm with you when you’d like us to send your references. We’ll need at least two professional references, with one being your most recent employer, placement or education provider. For candidates who have been living or working overseas, we’ll need additional references and/or an overseas police check to cover the time spent abroad.

Additional checks

Alongside your ID checks, referencing and DBS, there are additional vetting processes we follow, depending on the type of role you’ve applied for. These include:

  • Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) checks
  • Qualified Teacher Status checks
  • Online searches
  • Medical checks

Safeguarding training

All our teachers and support staff are required to provide proof that they’ve completed Safeguarding and Cyber Security training within the last 12 months. Don’t worry if you can’t provide this, as we offer free training to all registered staff via our online training provider.

So, what are you waiting for?

Over 90% of all staff who successfully register with us are offered suitable work as soon as they clear. Our local, dedicated teams are here to make the registration process as smooth as possible and help you find work that works for you
