As an Early Career Teacher, it can be difficult to know if supply is right for you. With so many agencies to choose from, it’s even trickier deciding which one to go for.
Rather than give you a list of all the reasons we think you should choose us (there are lots!), we decided to speak to one of our fantastic ECTs, Hannah, to get the low down on her experience working with us and why she thinks we’d be right fit for you.
What made you want to get into teaching?
As a teenager, I coached across a number of sports and realised I loved working with young people. The excitement in their eyes when they learnt a new skill , or figured something out for the first time and knowing I’d helped was such a great feeling.
Friends and family told me I should be a teacher for years but I didn’t go into it until mid-twenties, when I realised myself it was the job for me.
What made you choose Source Supply?
I was looking for a supply agency to work for and Source Supply came highly recommended- so I reached out and it paid off!
How have you found working with Source Supply?
I have absolutely loved it. I feel really looked after and happy to be going to work knowing I am always supported by the team at Source Supply. It’s just so easy!
What has your experience been like working in different schools?
I used to get really nervous visiting different settings, but now I look forward to it – it really gives you an insight into how different schools work.
How has working on supply helped your professional development as an ECT?
I get to see how other teachers work and understand how they deal with challenging scenarios and behaviours.
What would you say to other ECTs considering working on supply?
Just dive in and do it, it seems so scary at first but it’s so rewarding.
What is your top tip for working on supply as an ECT?
The experience you gain is so beneficial, don’t be scared and just throw yourself into anything that comes your way, every day is a learning day!
What are your hopes for your future career in education?
I’d love to complete my induction period (which I can do on supply) and find a permanent role to continue my teaching career.
