Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in primary schools across Rotherham?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to support pupils and staff in a welcoming primary school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, or someone looking to develop their experience within primary education.

The Role

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to provide support to pupils across the primary age range. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development.
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and preparation.
  • Providing additional support to pupils who may have additional needs.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, engaging and positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Supporting the wider school team as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic, caring and committed to supporting children.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Confident working with children across the primary age range.
  • Patient, adaptable and able to respond to different learning needs.
  • Reliable, professional and able to use their initiative.
  • Experienced as a Teaching Assistant or keen to gain further experience within a primary school environment.

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or previous experience working with children would be advantageous, but we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience.

The Role

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons and activities.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to promote learning and development.
  • Encouraging children’s social, emotional and educational progress.
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and maintaining a safe, stimulating learning environment.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and development of children within the Nursery setting
  • Deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Promote children’s social, emotional, language, and physical development
  • Support children through play-based learning opportunities
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Assist with observations, assessments, and learning records
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times

 

Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.


Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:

  • Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
  • A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
  • Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
  • Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
  • Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
