About the role
Source Supply is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the reception team at a large, vibrant, and multicultural primary school in South Sheffield.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting young learners during this important stage of their development. Working alongside the class teacher, you will help provide engaging, creative, and nurturing learning experiences that enable every child to reach their full potential.
The Role will involve:
• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, engaging learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum.
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment where children feel confident, valued, and eager to learn.
• Encourage and develop children’s social, emotional, language, and communication skills through positive interactions and purposeful play.
• Support children’s independence, confidence, and wellbeing while promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.
• Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines to ensure the smooth running of the reception classroom.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents, contributing to the school’s welcoming and supportive community.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
– Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
– A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
– Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
– Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
– Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
– Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
